Mrs. Neijstrom - Pre-K Teacher Mrs. Neijstrom has taught in New York and Pennsylvania for many years. Prior to starting the Pre-K program at Holy Cross, she was a faculty member at St. Mary’s, St. Lucy’s and Village Nursery in Fayetteville. |

Mrs. Furlong - 1st Grade Teacher Mrs. Furlong is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo and St. Bonaventure University. She holds dual New York State Certifications in Elementary Education and Reading. Prior to teaching First Grade at Holy Cross, Mrs. Furlong taught Kindergarten in the public school system. |

Miss Sands - 2nd Grade Teacher Miss Sands is a past winner of the Syracuse Diocese St. John Baptist De La Salle Award as outstanding teacher of the year. Over 15 years of her teaching career have been spent at Holy Cross. Miss Sands has Masters' Degrees in Education and Reading |

Mrs. Biermann - 3rd Grade Teacher After graduating from Syracuse University, Mrs. Biermann worked as a County caseworker before starting a teaching career. When her youngest daughter went off to kindergarten, she returned to work part-time while studying for a Masters in Education at LeMoyne College. In 1998, Mrs. Biermann found herself walking down the halls of Holy Cross School during a job interview; feeling very much at home, she has been here ever since! |

Ms. Laurenzo - 4th Grade Teacher Ms. Laurenzo joined the Holy Cross Faculty in 1993. She is a graduate of Maria Regina College and Oswego State University. Ms. Laurenzo previously taught kindergarten at St. Daniels. |

Mrs. Hopkins - 5th Grade Teacher Mrs. Hopkins studied at The College of St. Rose where she received a dual degree in special and elementary education. She then went on to LeMoyne College where she graduated with an MsEd. She served on the national board for the Council for Exceptional Children from 2007-2009, where she evaluated grants and participated in a study which would later shape national legislation. During her tenure at Mohawk Central School District, she was the chair of her department and was honored with the Friends of Children award in 2009. Mrs. Hopkins attended Catholic Elementary school and is excited to return to a faith filled setting! |

Ms. Kolinski - 6th Grade Teacher Ms. Kolinski has taught at Holy Cross since 1997 and also taught for 12 years in Africa (D.R.C.). A graduate of SUNY Albany (B.S. -Science, Education and French) and LeMoyne College (M.S. - Education), Ms. Kolinski is fluent in French and Portuguese. She recently began taking Italian lessons! |

Mrs. Ikuta - Physical Education Mrs. Ikuta is a graduate of Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. She has taught physical education in Arizona, Italy and the Bahamas |

Mrs. Marris - Computer Lab Mrs. Marris began her teaching career at SUNY Morrisville in the Educational Opportunity Center. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education and 27 credits towards a Master’s Degree in Vocational-Technical Education at SUNY Oswego. Mrs. Marris joined the Holy Cross faculty in 1996. |

Mrs. Poppe - Resource Specialist Mrs. Poppe has been a resource teacher at Holy Cross School since 1996. She works with students in a small group setting to assist them with their academic studies in all subjects. She received her bachelor's degree in Special Education at Syracuse University. She and her husband Joe have two children and five dogs! They love camping, boating, jet skiis and especially rollerblading. Mrs. Poppe considers Holy Cross her second home and family and can't imagine being anywhere else. |

Mrs. Sunser Technology Integration Specialist Mrs. Sunser has been teaching for the Syracuse Diocese since 1998 as a Technology Coordinator and Library Media Specialist, joining the Holy Cross faculty in 2006. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from SUNY Empire State College and graduated with an MsEd from LeMoyne College. Her literacy work with Multilingual Classrooms is published in One Classroom, Many Learners, 2009. |
